Bamburgh and Lindisfarne
The pretty Northumberland village of Bamburgh has been voted Britain’s best seaside destination in a consumer group survey for the past two years in a row.  This delightful coastal resort boasts pristine beaches, stunning sand dunes, an impressive castle, plus a wealth of shops, pubs, and eateries. Later, we travel across the tidal causeway to the breathtaking Holy Island, home to Lindisfarne Castle and famous for its scenic tranquility. 

Ancient Warkworth and magical Alnwick
With a high street framed by a 12th-century church and a magnificent castle, artisan shops, and incredible views, the ancient village of Warkworth is a must-see! We also visit the magical market town of Alnwick. This delightful town is like a fairytale village, and boasts one of the world’s largest treehouses, as well as a sleeping Giant at The Alnwick Garden. Alnwick Castle is (quite literally) spellbinding, and was used as a filming location for the Harry Potter movies. 

Beamish Open Air Museum
A world famous museum telling the story of life during the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian periods.  Experience the sights & sounds as you explore the colliery, home farm & railway station, then travel by tram to “The Town”, with traditional shops , factory and offices.  With plenty of time to explore, this is a fascinating day out!
